It’s a vast Windsor Style chateau, former summerhouse of Harrach coutship, built in 19th century, as a copy of Crewe Hall in Cheshire County. The interiors are practically a collection of the finest European furniture of that time, there are many collections of various objets d’art, such as paintings, weapons, cut glass, utensils made of ceramics and brass imported from Venice. Moreover, there is a 9-hole golf pitch in the park. The chateau is in the village Hradek, about 12 kms away from Hradec Kralove.

A complex of building that demonstrates the unique Baroque design was started in 1692 – at first the Spa on the bank of Elbe, a chateau with a healing spring. On the other bank, a hospital for old, poor and sick was built next to the Holy Trinity Church and the family crypt of the founder and owner – F.A.Spork. By the entrance of the church there is a park with the allegorical statues of the Religion, and two lines of various statues representing Virtues and Vices, all by Matyas Braun.
Anniversary of the Battle near Hradec Kralove

Austro – Prussian war, that took place mostly in the Czech kingdom, culminated near Hradec Kralove, the crucial battle was fought on the city outskirts at the hill Chlum on July 3. Today it is commemorated by the restoration of the battle in the period military costumes, military bands performances, fencing exhibitions by historical military units and pietary memorial campaigns as a tribute to the 50,000 killed soldiers.
