Classical music
The Philharmonic Orchestra of Hradec Kralove presents about 100 titles in this year’s season of the orchestra. It has some concerts at Music Forum Festival, and also some special concerts. They can be seen normally in their home concert hall in Eliscino nabrezi St. 777/5 in Hradec Kralove, but they also perform in many European cities in Germany, Switerland, France, in the capital Prague and in other Czech cities as well. In 2006 Mr. Andreas Sebastian Weiser became the member of Orchestra head as conductor. Mr. Weiser is acting among others as Chief Conductor assistant by Mr. Lorin Maazel New York Philharmonic. Clubbing
Probably the best known and most popular is the El Diablo music bar, which is located in Karla IV. Street 430. It concentrates mostly on jungle and techno, sometimes hip-hop or punk. Another is Budvarka, a restaurant that has a discotheque in the basement, in Pospisilova 317. Amongst the most renown clubs should be mentioned the good old Disco Club 2001, in Ignata Herrmanna Street 227. It has opening hours: Wed – Thu 9 PM – 3 AM, Fri – Sat 9 PM – 5 AM. Eden Bar, rebuilt from an old cinema, is now a star on the sky of Hradec Kralove’s dance floors. It is a nonstop bar situated at Riegrovo Square 914. There is usually no entrance fee for visitors, only sometimes when concert of a popular band is held. Anyway, it shouldn’t be more than 7 €(200 CZK). The more classy the clubs are, the more expensive are beverages, the price of one beer could go up to 1.5 € (45 CZK). It can be useful to read the programs of each club first, so you can choose what style you like best, because most clubs don’t stick to one particular style, they have a regular program and special nights dedicated to some band or musical genre.
Warning: Don’t drink and drive. Drinking any alcohol before driving a car is illegal in the Czech Republic and you can be fined for that, even your driver’s license can be confiscated in case you might endanger other people.

There is a very modern indoor swimming pool and Aquacenter in Eliscino nabrezi St. 842, with many facilities like sauna, roller-coaster slide, water massage, artificial surf in the pool, etc. Outdoor swimming is available in Trebechovice swimming pool, 10 km away from the city. Jogging isn’t very popular in the Czech Republic, but you can enjoy it in the areas where Czechs go for a walk, like along the riverbanks, or in one of many parks. Fomei Golf in Honkova Street offers both indoor and outdoor golf and provides all the related services. Golf Club Hradec Kralove has a nine-hole course and a school for golf players. Bowling in A-Sport offers 8 bowling lines as well as darts, video-projection, and a toy-room for children. In Planet Bowling, you can play every day from noon to midnight, with lower price 180 CZK (6 €) before 6 p.m., and higher – 290 CZK (10 €) in the night. If you would like to rent a horse for a ride, you can do it in the horse-riding center in Hradec Králové-Rusek, Jaroměřská Street.
You can enjoy tennis in the Tenis Centrum HK in the U Labe Street 427/1.
Cinemas
There can be found a multi-screen cinema Cinestar in the Futurum center (Tesco), in the Brněnská St. 23A, that is totally in Amercian style, with popcorn, coke and comfy chairs, and prices around 120 CZK (4€). It offers brand new mainstream films, in high quality projections. Then there is the single-screen cinema Kino Centrál in the Karla IV. Avenue, that is a little cheaper (3 € on average). Most films from abroad are not dubbed in Czech, there are only the subtitles added, which makes the films understandable for non-Czech speaking tourists.
Gay/lesbian clubs and bars
Rossini bar at Celakovskeho Street is the most known G/L bar in the city.
