Gallery of Modern Art
Among the Czech galleries it is considered to be one of the most prestigious, its aim is to gather 19th and 20th century Czech art. It can be found at Velke Square. Opening hours: daily except Mon: 9 AM – 12 AM, 1 PM – 6 PM.
Museum of East Bohemia
Architectonically interesting building, designed in 1910’s by Jan Kotera, is said to be the top building of Czech Secession. It shows mostly historical, natural, biological, archeological or handicraft collections, for instance you can see there the model of the Military fortress of Hradec Kralove, or the recostructed mammoth. In the middle of the building is a glass dome that gives it the specific appearance. Next to the entrance are situated the two allegorical statues – History and Industry. It is located on the Elbe riverside, in Elisscino nabrezi Street 465. Opening hours: daily except Mon: 9 AM – 12 AM, 1 PM – 6PM.
